Crop at TallyScrappers

TallyScrappers had a challenge to do a lo with fall colors, 3 pps, a punch, & a journal spot. Scrapfit.blogspot.com had a challenge to do a mosaic & add some ribbon so I put the two together. I had never done this before. I love the look of it. I hope to do more & do it more professional looking. Thanks for the opportunity & motivation to get me to try it. I hope you will try it too. Learning is always a good thing. Even if you learn that it isn't for you or your thing! :-) These are my little monsters & I love all four of them more than life itself. You couldn't offer me enough for these sweetie pies. The sun rises & sets on them. The other one is too small to join in but I'm sure she will soon. I got new pics of her today. It won't be long before they are joined by another baby, less than 2 months. Woo Hoo. Keep scrapping!

We had a challenge at TallyScrappers this week. Actually this is week 3 of Survivor. This week the challenge consisted of 6 different size circles, 6 pics, 6 different stamps, & 6 different alphas. I had so much fun with this challenge. A couple of my stamps didn't show up as well as I would have liked. The orange one under family I went over with Stickles & there is one under the butterfly that was a butterfly so I just put the butterfly over it. I still have so much scrapping left to do that I have to get busy. We have a busy week coming up & I have many layouts sitting at my desk ready to be done not to mention that it is National Card Making Day! So, I'm off. I promised to post an ATC that I had made & sent to a friend that never made it to her as well. So, that is what the top 2 pics are. If you want to see the one she made me go to papercamerascissor.blogspot.com She keeps an awesome blog.

Soccer Princess

Soccer PrincessI cannot believe how swift time passes by lately. DH has had the flu, I've had the flu, & I think we have passed it back & forth. This pic came to me from my daughter-in-law. They were having a monochromatic challenge, I think, over at TallyScrappers. Anyway, I wanted to do this pic so badly that I made it work. It is so Aubrey. I've already described her pretty good so I'll just let it go at that. I have 3 new ATC cards to post but I'll wait until my friend gets hers. I'm about to start a senior trip album for my niece's birthday gift that should be lots of fun. It won't be real extensive b/c there are so many pics that I need to get in the 20 pages but I will have a good time arranging them. I'm sure she will be surprised. I will be back to blog more. We have an appointment with the apartment manager this morning in an hour & a half & DH is still sleeping. Ugh! Better see if I can wake him up.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

Photobucket
I know. She's a keeper. The first time she did this her Mom had handed her to me and asked me to try to keep her awake. No problem right? Ha ha. Well, she put her hands behind her head like this and I thought we were doing fine. The next thing I knew she was fast asleep. Then her Mom tells me that is what she does when she goes to sleep. Fast forward months later and her Mom calls me into the room and she is sleeping in her bed like this. It isn't a good picture because I took it with my cell phone but I had to get one. I bought a new cell phone and thought this picture was lost forever then found out that I could take the old phone and have everything transferred to the new one. That was it. I had to do it just for this picture alone. TallyScrappers is having a challenge to scraplift and someone, lesleyrose, had a layout titled, "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep". I knew immediately that this is what I wanted to do. The challenge at TS is to turn the lo and make it your own. So, if you are playing along then this is your challenge as well. Find a layout that you like, scraplift it but turn it so that you are making it totally your own. And as always, HAVE FUN! That's it for today. :-)

Here She Is

Doesn't this cry out "Scrap Me!"? LOL I just got this picture on my cell with the words, "Princess Aubrey playing soccer, is that our girl in a nut shell or what!?!?!?" Well, it is. She is so girly for the side of the family that wants her girly & she is a tomboy for the side of the family that loves the tomboy in her. She is everything to all of us. She is going to make the best big sister in December too. She will have the mothering, nurturing, & caring part to her but yet also be able to knock someone in the head if they mess with her little sister. She is one tough little cookie. This 3 year old doesn't worry about saying NO if she means NO. Yes, I know, I do alot of scrapbooking about the grandchildren but rarely do I speak much about them. This is the one that reminds me more of myself than any of them. Grampa is already talking about sending her Daddy a shotgun! LOL He thinks Daddy just may need one. Well, I am thinking Grampa could be right. Enjoy your childhood Princess Aubrey & Happy Belated Birthday for yesterday Sweetheart! Gramma loves you & misses you!!

ATC Card

This is the ATC card I did for the group Art Journalers that I belong to through TallyScrappers. The word was "Plan". My ATC cards aren't as fancy as the rest of the group's but they work for me. I guess I'm not as fancy as most people. Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend.

Sketch

http://cis-stylish-sketches.blogspot.com/

The sketch for the below layout can be found here. Thanks!

It's Pitiful

The pitiful thing is that I've spent so much time on Facebook lately that I haven't been scrapbooking every day like I enjoy doing. Scrapbooking is what I do for fun & relaxation. I can't believe it has almost been a week since I have added anything to my blog & yet that is because it has been that long since I have done any scrapbooking. So, the challenge was to use the title, "What The" & to fill in the rest. So this is the result of that challenge. I really like the layout. The paper is DCWV "Rustic" & of course all the pictures were taken from the Rockin' R Ranch in Temple, Texas. We had the best time & I am eager to go back again some day. I will have to add a link later as to where I got the sketch because it doesn't say on the paper & I want to give credit where credit is due. I need to write it down when I print it. Most of the time it will say though. So for now I'll leave it like this & I'll be back to add the link. Enjoy & please stay tuned. I think Jami will be doing school work for a while but Gina & I plan to keep the challenges going. Ciao.

One Down One To Go

Computer up & running, check! Scrapping, check! Jami's challenge, check! Jami asked for felt, there is felt on the soccer ball. She asked for green & you can see that there is green, & she asked for notebook paper. Well, here is where I thought a little outside the box. I used the notebook paper I had to make the letters. This is another page for my niece. I hope that she will be happy with her books that I'm doing for her. I'm so enjoying doing them. I love her more than words can say & she was so sad that this was her last high school game that her "Mommy" would be able to see. I have Gina's challenge to do now. Stay tuned. I'm hoping things will start getting back to normal now. Woo Hoo!

New Challenges

I have been having trouble getting the pictures uploaded on my new computer so the blog isn't quite the way it should be right now. The pictures below are the new challenges kind of. The purple one is one of Jami's that I had done but was waiting to get on the new computer. She challenged us to use 3 different pieces of ribbon & something purple. I thought that this picture was perfect for the challenge. My DH was able to catch our DGD smelling the flowers while we were in TX this summer.

The "Introducing" layout is my new challenge. Introducing Brianna Rachelle Burnett, born Auguest 6, 2009; weight 5 lbs 14 oz; height 18 1/2". Nanna's new "scrapping" subject. I was challenged at TallyScrappers to 1)use plain cardstock in a LO 2)use something sparkly 3)use some irregular handcut shapes. I used sketch #32 from http://52sketches52weeks.com

I challenged my friends to do the same. I love the way it turned out.

The new challenges are to use the title "What The ________", fill in your own blank. The other one is to use felt, notebook paper, and the color green. I hope to get to these soon. It has been taking so much of my time trying to get the new computer up & going at the right compacity. Ugh! Please continue to join us & please leave your challenges too. I'd love to join in with you. Thanks.

Sisters

It's getting to be a habit. LOL Posting twice in one day doesn't happen often for me but I like to get these on here when I get the challenge done. This picture isn't very good to see the part of the challenge but it was supposed to have glitter or sparkles. I used a sparkle brad in the large flower & then there is bling around the circle, in the flowers, & the heart is bling. I only have 3 pages left, I think, for my niece, on one of her albums now. I hope that she will enjoy these. I wanted her to have some of these silly pics that she & her sister took. It is nice that they have such a great relationship. Well, I am only one challenge down now. I have to get busy trying to think of something to do for that one. I hope you are following along & trying to do some of the challenges yourself. Thanks for dropping by.

Scatter Seeds Of Kindness

So last night I did the monochromatic challenge. This challenge was also a challenge at http://mixitupchallenges.blogspot.com/.
You should really check it out. They have an awesome site. I loved the challenge. It is perfect for my niece's senior album. I've had so much fun doing the pictures from her senior year & her graduation that I really hate to stop. I know that she had an awesome year & that when she starts college in a week that her life will still be full of wonderment & she will make lots of new friends. She is very outgoing & fun to be around. I really had a hard time picking out what to put on the page as far as words went. I have 2 more of the challenges left to catch up with the other girls. I think Gina is supposed to be home tomorrow or Sunday. I have a couple of other challenges that I want to do for myself. So, keep checking back. There will be more. Thanks for looking. And, KEEP SCRAPPING! :-)

Bone Cold Trippin'

Aren't they adorable? I mean "bad" looking? LOL I thought instead of stone cold trippin' I would call it Bone Cold Trippin'. The paper behind the top pic matches my DH's do rag & my BFF's do rag is skulls. There are skulls in the cherries on the pp behind the bottom pic. The challenge was to use 2 pieces of chipboard & they couldn't be letters as well as to have some pink somewhere on the lo. So, there is pink on the lo & 2 pcs of chipboard, no chipboard letters. I did add pink brads, hot pink, around the pics. TFL & I hope you will join us. I know that I am enjoying this & think you will too!! Be sure to link us up.

Two Posts In One Day?

If you are following my other friends you know that one of the challenges was to have multiple pictures. That challenge was issued by me just for these wonderful zoo pictures. We had so much fun at the zoo that day. Seeing things through the eyes of a child is so amazing! Dave & I both LOVE it! I hope you enjoy the challenges as much as we are & that you will continue to follow us or join in. Please leave your blog name or a link so that we can follow you too. Thanks.

A Funny Thing Happened

Yes, I'm still doing the challenges & yes I'm still way behind. No, this isn't one of the challenges. You see, I am always saying that scrapping is my form of therapy & it truly is. I have been accused in one way or another of every one of the things on this list for the past 30 years & it just got to me today. I had to take time out of my day to get it out of my system & this was the best way for me to do that without saying anything to hurt anyone's feelings. It helped me to express my hurt without hurting anyone. And, now it is out of my system & I can get back to doing my challenges that I am still way behind on. In the meantime, I am going to be able to see one of my very dearest friends in the whole wide world tonight so I have to go get ready for that. I hope that you are enjoying yourself & are finding scrapbooking as fun & challenging as well as therapeutic as I do! Ciao!

Hello Everybody!

This is something my wonderful granddaughter says & it is so cute when she says it! That's her in the picture! Anyway, I've told you that we have this challenge going on.
The last 3 were: monochromatic; multiple pics; & a lo with pink on it somewhere & 2 or more chipboard pieces on it & they can't be letters. I haven't done any of them yet. I am doing ATC cards & did my ATC card for the letter "O" for "One".
Anyway, we have already issued 3 new challenges. The 1st one is to use 3 different ribbons plus something purple. The next one is to use something glittery or sparkly on your lo. My challenge was to use the challenge at http://pagemaps.com/blog.php
That is what my lo posted today is from. Thanks pagemaps. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was supposed to have the theme of "Summer" so it says, "I'm not 3 yet but I can add, Water + Daddy = Summertime Fun! I hope you enjoy it & stop by & visit pagemaps. Be sure to join us on these challenges too. Let us know that you are doing them!

Friends Challenges

Gina, Jami, Jody, & I gave each other challenges. Well, actually Jody didn't give us one but joined in the fun. Gina's challenge was to use 2 stamps on a lo. So, "Model Student" is the lo I did for her challenge. The 2nd stamp is in between the 2 larger pics. It is a light green plant. I got the sketch from HeroArts.com.
My challenge was to use a journaling card & buttons. Then we found this great site that also had a water challenge. The name of the site is http://scrapfit.blogspot.com/. "That Is What I Call A Great Investment" is the one I did for them. So, I incorporated the 2 challenges. This sketch came from http://inspiredblueprints.ning.com/.
Jami's challenge was to use doodles & flowers. So, "Off To College--Roommates" fit this challenge. I doodled the bird & the flourish behind it. And, of course, there are the flowers. I think that this sketch came from http://scrappinmyway.blogspot.com/. I used Sketch #34.
I encourage you to join us on these challenges. We already have 3 more going: a monochromatic lo; one with multiple pictures; & one with something pink on it & 2 or more chipboard pieces but they cannot be letters. We are all having tough economic times & are trying to encourage each other to use things that we already have around. We'd love to have you join us & issue us a challenge too. That's it for now. Enjoy!

No Pic For Now

I don't have a pic for now but I have to say that this has been the best summer that I've ever had. I cannot believe that so much time has passed since I've had time to post. I've been gone for the past 2 months on a trip visiting with family and friends. I have plenty of pictures and plenty of stories and memories to share. It will take a little while to get everything settled back in so that I can get going on this. I cannot wait to share though. I've learned many things about myself as well as about the people around me, (those people I hold near and dear to my heart.)

Every Day's A Holiday

I can't believe the month has flown by so quickly. We've had birthdays, picnics, meetings, flea markets, trips to the Holy Land Experience, Tarpon Springs, & of course shopping, quilting, & scrapbooking with my BFFs. LOL

I did this layout today for a challenge at TallyScrappers. It shows a little about what we do here in Florida. And, it shows that "Every Day's A Holiday" when you live in Florida! Enjoy yourself.

A Great Day!

This is the 2nd day this week that I have done 3 layouts in a day. I'm thrilled to have accomplished this feat. I'm happy with my results too. The first one is my adopted granddaughter. She is so beautiful. The second one is of the way we celebrated on our anniversary this year. The third one goes in my niece's year book for her senior year. I got these done with two of the greatest friends a girl could ever have. They are definitely inspiration to me. This has surely been a great day! Thanks.

Someone Needs To Post

Someone needs to post and I guess that someone would be me. I've been a little busy. My printer bit the dust and I had to go get another one. Being a scrapper means I cannot do without one. I was in a panic. So, this is the first layout I've done with my new printer. The sides are a little hard to see. The first one has a lure on it and says, "Bite Me." The second one has a fish basket on it and says, "Full of Crappie." The last one has a fly (lure) on one side and a fishing pole on the other side and says, "My Fly is Undone." I did this for a challenge. I had to have a black and white photo, a song title, something blue, and frame the picture. I also specified the sketch to be used on this. I've got several things in the works right now so I'm off to work on more. Have a great day.

Productive

Yesterday was a productive day for me. I was able to complete 3 layouts. This one is about Dave taking me to the Florida Aquarium and then out on the Catamaran for some dolphin watching. It was a beautiful day and we had a lovely time. I wanted to share these pictures with you and I'm certain that I'll have more to share before long. We took lots of pictures. These were just the ones I picked to put on this particular layout. I hope you enjoy. Remember to enjoy each day as it comes. Surprises abound around the corner for each of us!

Fun, Fun, Fun

This has been a great month. I love March. I have more pictures to share but we went with our "adopted" daughter & granddaughter & her real mom to the Renaissance Fair in Tampa. It was the first time we had been. It was so much fun. These are just a few of the pictures we took. In fact there are well over 100 pictures we took ourselves. I had 3 full days of celebrating my birthday. Today my good friend, Pat, is taking me to lunch. I have been so blessed to have such great friends & family. My goal is to keep this blog updated much better than I have been. I haven't been very good at it but it is b/c I've been so busy. Until next time...God Bless!

Where Does The Time Go?

I can't believe it has really been 11 days since I last posted. I have something on almost every one of those days on my calendar though. We've been busy. And I feel stressed when I don't have a chance to do some scrapbooking during the day. It is my way of doing total relaxation. I don't mean shopping for scrappy stuff either although I really enjoy that too. LOL I want time to sit and look at my goodies, feel them, and smell them. I need to enjoy the whole experience of them. TallyScrappers is supposed to have a new challenge posted today and I was disappointed that it wasn't already up. How insane am I? Ha!

Last night the space shuttle went up after being delayed from Wednesday night. We always get excited because we can actually see it from our apartment. Dave got some really good pictures too. We did have some clouds in the sky but all in all we could see and even could see the rockets falling off. I don't believe we had ever seen them before.

I was supposed to get to see Missy and Kayla this weekend but things happened that prevented it. We probably needed a break anyway. LOL I was about to move in with her. wink wink Well, we will get together next weekend. I'm going to miss her when I'm gone the entire month of May. I wonder if she will fit in my suitcase? Hmm...

Reflections

Today I have a son who is turning 38. He is still finding himself. Christmas of 2007 he asked me to be his "mom". Now he acts like I'm not alive. I don't want to be part of someone's life who doesn't want to be part of my life. I just feel sad that he cannot move on & that he feels like he has to blame someone for his own actions. He complained to family that he had a bad childhood. He said the reason he acts the way he does is b/c of the way he was raised. The funny part is that he was telling family who was raised by the same parents he was raised by. Now, why is he acting a certain way & the rest of them aren't? And, if he wants to blame me then the two who lived with me all of their lives should act that way or worse by his thinking, right? That isn't the way it is in "the real world" though. It is sad to love someone & sit by & watch them destroy what happiness they should have. Life doesn't last forever. I hope he wakes up soon. I don't have to be part of his life but I want his life to be happy.

I finally got this layout done from our day out on Monday. We had the best time. We went to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City. The strawberry shortcake in the picture is one that Richard made & Dave took a picture of. He did a great job of getting the picture.

Have You Ever

Have you ever been ill for a long time? I have. My body fights against itself. I am so rundown and I need to rest but my brain says that if I give in--I'm admitting that I'm ill. I so want to feel good like normal people. It isn't like me to say anything about this illness. In fact, I guess this is all I'm going to say. I just don't want to give in. I want my home to look better for my Sweetie Pie. He deserves better.

In a way not much is happening in my life and then again there is so much going on. I guess it is more what is going on in my periphery than in my own life. It all affects us. I can see that blogging can be both therapeutic and dangerous. I love to write. I start writing and things just start pouring out. Therein lies the danger part too. Can't divulge all of my nasty secrets.

I need to begin working on a new layout to post here. Enjoy your day!

Our Anniversary

Today is our anniversary. Yep, we have made it to 14. I truly love him more now than I did the day I married him. He has been my hero. He has shown me such unconditional love & I suppose that is what we all truly want. It is nice to know that I can be a dork & he will still love me as much as if I were perfect. I think that knowing his love is always there for me makes me try even harder to see if I can break it sometimes. It sounds silly but I know that I push it to the max at times. It seems that he loves me even more then. I don't know how he could. There are times when I don't even love myself. Ah...wonder if he can put up with me another 14 years?

I wanted to add this layout that I finished yesterday. I don't know why the past couple have been about little David but this picture is on my screensaver now as it seems to be my fave. It is just so him. Enjoy your day!

Super Bowl Sunday

So today is the Super Bowl. Dave went & worked as a volunteer. He should be home soon. I stayed home & scrapped. I made a layout & a birthday card so far. I have so much more to do though. Does it ever all get done? I have so many projects that I want to do I think I forget some of them before I even get started. Do you have a favorite team for the game? Will you do something more productive? I miss my friend Rick, who used to give the best Super Bowl parties ever.

Let's Get Started

January 31, 2009

I never thought that I had anything important enough to say to have my own blog. But, now I find myself trying it out. Come with me & we'll see what life has to offer. It is a start. This is my journey through scrapbooking & trying to leave a print for those behind me so they will know who I was & who those before me were.

I am putting this pic of my friend, Missy & her family. It was taken on her daughter's birthday & shows how much fun they were having. I loved seeing her just let go & enjoy life.
