Been Sick & Also Busy

Well, I came back from Christmas with a sinus infection & as soon as I got over that I went out with my DH & hurt my leg.  Do any of the rest of you have to take big steps to keep up with your husbands?  Mine walks so fast.  I was in bed 2 weeks with an aching leg.  Then we got a 3 month old puppy.  We will have had him a week tomorrow.  He is so sweet & adorable.  I plan to write a lot on this blog about him.  We never wanted a boy dog.  We have two females & wanted another female but I sure am glad that I have him.  I hope he stays sweet like this forever!   Then I'm hoping to get back on here real soon so I can post an ATC that I did & some of the Bugaboo stamps I have done.  I love Bugaboo stamps.  The 1st picture is your introduction to Jax.  He is a ShihPoo.  His Mom was a Shih-Tzu & his Dad was a Toy Poodle.  The 2nd picture is of Lucy reading the paper.  LOL  I had to take that picture.  When I got on here tonight I found out that Blogger & IE don't work together anymore so I will try to post more tomorrow so I can get the rest of what I want to get posted on here.  I have lots to say to help catch up what is going on in my life.  I miss it here & I am having so much fun doing digital stamps & making new friends.  Until the next time.  Ciao.

New Card for New Challenge

I have just completed my new card for The Shabby Tea Room's Week #92 new all about stockings.  I loved the Victorian style they had as an example so I tried to keep my card as close to that as possible.  Here is my card:

I chose background paper from K&Co. Christmas Cheer Specialty pack.  Then I used my copics to color two of Tiddly Inks, http://www.tiddlyinks.com/categories/Digital-Stamps/
,beautiful digital stamps.  I used pop dots to make Ms. Santa stand out in front.  Thanks for visiting my blog & looking at my card.

Card I Created For The Shabby Tea Room

This is the first time I have tried creating for another blog & entering into a contest.  Here is my card:

The digital image was from http://deliciousdoodles.blogspot.com/.  I fussy cut the tree after I colored it.  My background paper is Christmas Cheer Santa by K&Co.  The lines were red originally so I used pink pearls to go over them.  I added Recollections rhinestones, Martha Stewart flowers & a bow, & then some snowflakes that a friend had given to me.  I had some gold cording that I used to finish my tree.
This is being entered in http://theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com/.  Thanks for looking.

First I want to say a big thank you to all the Veterans & Veterans families.  I appreciate their service to our country.  And I know that the families serve as well both when their loved ones are gone & when they come home.

I have some new projects that I have completed.  The problem is I don't know how to turn the two cards around so you can see them right side up.  UGH!  The "Nest Egg List" was a challenge at TallyScrappers to take something from Pinterest & use it as your inspiration for a layout.  I took someone's Bucket List & came up with this.  After all, who wants to think about "kicking the bucket?"  I had the perfect paper for it.  It was a LOT of fussy cutting!  Now on this last card, I was finally able to successfully wet emboss.  I am so excited about that b/c I have been trying for a long time.  I have got to get a better camera & I have got to learn to take my own pictures or teach my husband to take better pictures.  I've tried to tell him how important it is to have a great picture in scrapbooking.  Well, thanks for visiting today & I hope you have a great weekend & hope you have time to craft & that something here has inspired you!

Tuesday, November 8, 2011

I had better get started on my blog today before it gets away from me & I don't get anything posted.  I did 2 cards yesterday & 1 layout.  I want to get those on here.  The 1st card was supposed to have 2 pps, a ribbon & a bird.  The result is above.  The 2nd card was supposed to have stickers on it.  I tried a different approach this time.  I took shaving cream & then took some Tim Holtz inks & dropped them on the shaving cream.  (I needed some popsicle sticks but didn't have them.)  I used my bone folder to stir.  Then I put the cardstock on top of the result.  After I took a Kleenex & wiped off the excess I still had some white spots & I tried to take more of the color & fill in those spots with the Kleenex.  I really think I like the result.  It is unusual to say the least.  The layout was to have 3 pps, 3 flowers & to be in fall colors.  I used pictures of our family at Fiddlesticks Farms.  I loved the outcome so much it is already framed & up on our wall.  Thanks for dropping by.  I hope to get more done today.

Time To Begin Again

A lot has happened since I have posted. We bought a house in Texas. We moved to Texas. We have moved a couple of times. We are now getting settled in. I have a scraproom & it will be my sewing room too but I still have a lot of work to do on it. The holiday season is upon us & I have no idea when I will have time to work on this room between keeping up with the challenges at Tallyscrappers & grandchildren & our new papillons. I just did a Christmas card as today was the beginning of a month of Christmas card challenges at Tallyscrappers & I finished a layout of my rescue papillons too that I want to share as part of Survivor challenges at Tallyscrappers. I hope that this is the beginning of my keeping up with the blogging. I need a place to put the lovely things that I am using on my cards from places like The Graphics Fairy & the free digital stamps I have been getting. I want to acknowledge those that share their gifts with others & what better place to do it than here & on the sites I show my cards which would be Tallyscrappers. Thanks for looking & I hope you enjoy what you see.

Wow!

I cannot believe that it has almost been a year since I have blogged & yet I haven't done much lately in the way of scrapbooking or the things I love with this artistic side of me. I have been busy learning the art of quilting & trying to make purses. It has been fun. But I need desperately to learn to balance what I love to do. In the meantime I haven't heard from my friends in this world so I'm wondering how each of you are doing??? I hope things are going well for you. I am working on 3 ATCs at the moment. I'm doing the 4th of July, summer, & sweets. I hope I am on the right track. Hopefully I can get them posted on here later after I finish. Maybe I can get some feedback. I have been busy also working on a new scrapbook/craft room. It isn't completely finished as I need to find a home for everything. Now that is a problem! OK, back to work on my ATCs & I hope to hear from some of you! Missing each of you.

Crop at TallyScrappers

TallyScrappers had a challenge to do a lo with fall colors, 3 pps, a punch, & a journal spot. Scrapfit.blogspot.com had a challenge to do a mosaic & add some ribbon so I put the two together. I had never done this before. I love the look of it. I hope to do more & do it more professional looking. Thanks for the opportunity & motivation to get me to try it. I hope you will try it too. Learning is always a good thing. Even if you learn that it isn't for you or your thing! :-) These are my little monsters & I love all four of them more than life itself. You couldn't offer me enough for these sweetie pies. The sun rises & sets on them. The other one is too small to join in but I'm sure she will soon. I got new pics of her today. It won't be long before they are joined by another baby, less than 2 months. Woo Hoo. Keep scrapping!

We had a challenge at TallyScrappers this week. Actually this is week 3 of Survivor. This week the challenge consisted of 6 different size circles, 6 pics, 6 different stamps, & 6 different alphas. I had so much fun with this challenge. A couple of my stamps didn't show up as well as I would have liked. The orange one under family I went over with Stickles & there is one under the butterfly that was a butterfly so I just put the butterfly over it. I still have so much scrapping left to do that I have to get busy. We have a busy week coming up & I have many layouts sitting at my desk ready to be done not to mention that it is National Card Making Day! So, I'm off. I promised to post an ATC that I had made & sent to a friend that never made it to her as well. So, that is what the top 2 pics are. If you want to see the one she made me go to papercamerascissor.blogspot.com She keeps an awesome blog.

Soccer Princess

Soccer PrincessI cannot believe how swift time passes by lately. DH has had the flu, I've had the flu, & I think we have passed it back & forth. This pic came to me from my daughter-in-law. They were having a monochromatic challenge, I think, over at TallyScrappers. Anyway, I wanted to do this pic so badly that I made it work. It is so Aubrey. I've already described her pretty good so I'll just let it go at that. I have 3 new ATC cards to post but I'll wait until my friend gets hers. I'm about to start a senior trip album for my niece's birthday gift that should be lots of fun. It won't be real extensive b/c there are so many pics that I need to get in the 20 pages but I will have a good time arranging them. I'm sure she will be surprised. I will be back to blog more. We have an appointment with the apartment manager this morning in an hour & a half & DH is still sleeping. Ugh! Better see if I can wake him up.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

Photobucket
I know. She's a keeper. The first time she did this her Mom had handed her to me and asked me to try to keep her awake. No problem right? Ha ha. Well, she put her hands behind her head like this and I thought we were doing fine. The next thing I knew she was fast asleep. Then her Mom tells me that is what she does when she goes to sleep. Fast forward months later and her Mom calls me into the room and she is sleeping in her bed like this. It isn't a good picture because I took it with my cell phone but I had to get one. I bought a new cell phone and thought this picture was lost forever then found out that I could take the old phone and have everything transferred to the new one. That was it. I had to do it just for this picture alone. TallyScrappers is having a challenge to scraplift and someone, lesleyrose, had a layout titled, "Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep". I knew immediately that this is what I wanted to do. The challenge at TS is to turn the lo and make it your own. So, if you are playing along then this is your challenge as well. Find a layout that you like, scraplift it but turn it so that you are making it totally your own. And as always, HAVE FUN! That's it for today. :-)

Here She Is

Doesn't this cry out "Scrap Me!"? LOL I just got this picture on my cell with the words, "Princess Aubrey playing soccer, is that our girl in a nut shell or what!?!?!?" Well, it is. She is so girly for the side of the family that wants her girly & she is a tomboy for the side of the family that loves the tomboy in her. She is everything to all of us. She is going to make the best big sister in December too. She will have the mothering, nurturing, & caring part to her but yet also be able to knock someone in the head if they mess with her little sister. She is one tough little cookie. This 3 year old doesn't worry about saying NO if she means NO. Yes, I know, I do alot of scrapbooking about the grandchildren but rarely do I speak much about them. This is the one that reminds me more of myself than any of them. Grampa is already talking about sending her Daddy a shotgun! LOL He thinks Daddy just may need one. Well, I am thinking Grampa could be right. Enjoy your childhood Princess Aubrey & Happy Belated Birthday for yesterday Sweetheart! Gramma loves you & misses you!!

ATC Card

This is the ATC card I did for the group Art Journalers that I belong to through TallyScrappers. The word was "Plan". My ATC cards aren't as fancy as the rest of the group's but they work for me. I guess I'm not as fancy as most people. Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend.

Sketch

http://cis-stylish-sketches.blogspot.com/

The sketch for the below layout can be found here. Thanks!

It's Pitiful

The pitiful thing is that I've spent so much time on Facebook lately that I haven't been scrapbooking every day like I enjoy doing. Scrapbooking is what I do for fun & relaxation. I can't believe it has almost been a week since I have added anything to my blog & yet that is because it has been that long since I have done any scrapbooking. So, the challenge was to use the title, "What The" & to fill in the rest. So this is the result of that challenge. I really like the layout. The paper is DCWV "Rustic" & of course all the pictures were taken from the Rockin' R Ranch in Temple, Texas. We had the best time & I am eager to go back again some day. I will have to add a link later as to where I got the sketch because it doesn't say on the paper & I want to give credit where credit is due. I need to write it down when I print it. Most of the time it will say though. So for now I'll leave it like this & I'll be back to add the link. Enjoy & please stay tuned. I think Jami will be doing school work for a while but Gina & I plan to keep the challenges going. Ciao.

One Down One To Go

Computer up & running, check! Scrapping, check! Jami's challenge, check! Jami asked for felt, there is felt on the soccer ball. She asked for green & you can see that there is green, & she asked for notebook paper. Well, here is where I thought a little outside the box. I used the notebook paper I had to make the letters. This is another page for my niece. I hope that she will be happy with her books that I'm doing for her. I'm so enjoying doing them. I love her more than words can say & she was so sad that this was her last high school game that her "Mommy" would be able to see. I have Gina's challenge to do now. Stay tuned. I'm hoping things will start getting back to normal now. Woo Hoo!

New Challenges

I have been having trouble getting the pictures uploaded on my new computer so the blog isn't quite the way it should be right now. The pictures below are the new challenges kind of. The purple one is one of Jami's that I had done but was waiting to get on the new computer. She challenged us to use 3 different pieces of ribbon & something purple. I thought that this picture was perfect for the challenge. My DH was able to catch our DGD smelling the flowers while we were in TX this summer.

The "Introducing" layout is my new challenge. Introducing Brianna Rachelle Burnett, born Auguest 6, 2009; weight 5 lbs 14 oz; height 18 1/2". Nanna's new "scrapping" subject. I was challenged at TallyScrappers to 1)use plain cardstock in a LO 2)use something sparkly 3)use some irregular handcut shapes. I used sketch #32 from http://52sketches52weeks.com

I challenged my friends to do the same. I love the way it turned out.

The new challenges are to use the title "What The ________", fill in your own blank. The other one is to use felt, notebook paper, and the color green. I hope to get to these soon. It has been taking so much of my time trying to get the new computer up & going at the right compacity. Ugh! Please continue to join us & please leave your challenges too. I'd love to join in with you. Thanks.
